Gardoš Tower
Gardoš Tower rises above Zemun's older streets and the Danube. The climb to the hill makes this a useful scenic stop for visitors spending time on Belgrade's northern riverfront.
Built for the Hungarian millennium celebrations in 1896, the tower belongs to Zemun's Central European history. Its hilltop setting gives a different reading of Belgrade from the fortress. Look at the brick architecture and the relationship between the tower, the roofs below and the broad river.
