Viminacium
Viminacium is a Roman archaeological park near Kostolac and Požarevac. Excavated buildings and interpreted remains require a substantial stop rather than a quick roadside look.
The former city and military base show the scale of Roman life on the Danube frontier. Different parts of the park reveal public buildings, burial practices and the infrastructure of an urban settlement. The visitor experience is spread across a working archaeological landscape, so clarify the route before starting.
