Why go

This is an outdoor day for walkers who like to pause beside the water, with several chances to swim when conditions suit. St. Johannes Church gives you a clear starting landmark before the historic basin at Badedammen. The longer walk to Varden earns a local viewpoint, and the route then drops to Strømvig’s seawater bath and the more open shore at Godalen. Emmausbukta and Rosenli make quieter final pauses along the coast. Treat each bathing place as a choice, not an obligation to enter the water; check the weather and current bathing advice. Walking transfers are estimates, and the Badedammen–Varden stretch is the longest.
