Why go
The giant Buddha on Bagua Mountain looks back over the city, while the Confucian temple points to a different part of Changhua’s history. These two landmarks make a concise cultural stop without needing to treat the whole county as one destination. Add Lukang when there is time for a second, port-town setting.
What to look for
- Bagua Mountain’s large Buddha statue above the city
- Figures from Buddhist lore along the approach
- The historic Confucian temple
Useful to know
- Allow for an uphill approach to the Bagua Mountain landmark.
- Combine Changhua with Lukang only if there is enough time to experience both rather than treating each as a photo stop.
