Kinmen
Kinmen is an island group near the Fujian coast under Taiwan’s administration. Its cross-strait position is the central reason to plan it separately.
Why go
Kinmen belongs to Taiwan’s outlying-island geography but lies much closer to the mainland Chinese coast than the main island. It is often considered alongside Matsu because both occupy this distinctive strait setting. Approach it as its own island trip, with travel logistics and local history to explore once a reliable itinerary is in place.
