Cijin Lighthouse

A white octagonal lighthouse above Cijin looks across Kaohsiung’s busy harbor. The climb offers both a historic navigation landmark and a clear view of the port.

Cijin Lighthouse

Why go

Built in the nineteenth century, the lighthouse still marks the harbor entrance. Its black-topped tower and balcony are easy to pick out against the sea. Come to see Cijin and the working port from above; the outlook gives more context than the tower alone.

What to look for

  • Historic harbor lighthouse
  • Views over Kaohsiung port

Useful to know

  • Allow for the uphill approach to the lighthouse before planning another Cijin stop.
