Hinoki Village
Preserved Japanese-era timber houses near Chiayi’s old railway gateway now hold small cultural spaces. The village makes Alishan’s forestry story visible in the city.
Why go
Wood from the Alishan region once passed through nearby Beimen Station, and the surrounding timber buildings grew from that trade. Walking among them shows how forestry shaped Chiayi before you travel into the mountains. This is a compact urban heritage stop, distinct from the forest recreation area itself.
