Wat Ratchaburana, Ayutthaya
Wat Ratchaburana’s central prang preserves a vertical Khmer-style silhouette amid Ayutthaya’s ruins. Surviving stucco and sculpted mythical creatures invite closer inspection than a skyline glance allows.
The main tower makes this a focused stop for visitors interested in the craft of Ayutthaya’s brick monuments. Look for remaining stucco and figures of Garudas and Nagas around the prang, then compare its more compact plan with nearby Wat Mahathat. The two temples are close enough to visit together while noticing their different forms.
