At ground level, the palace remains reveal the breadth of an imperial complex that the more famous Arch and Rotunda cannot show on their own. Several exposed sections occupy the modern street grid, so the site rewards moving between them and comparing their footprint with the city around it. Together, the ruins make the Roman monuments easier to understand as parts of one setting.
Useful to know
Use the signed walkways to connect the exposed palace sections.
