Santa Cruz Museum
The former Hospital de Santa Cruz offers Renaissance architecture and selected open rooms, including the Covarrubias cloister. Reinforcement works still close major galleries, so this is a partial museum visit.
The building is a reason to come even while many collection rooms are off display. Its hospital origins give the exhibition rooms a setting unlike Toledo’s smaller house museums, and the cloister lets you study the architecture at a different scale. The open Sala Carranza and temporary galleries provide a focused encounter with the museum rather than a survey of everything it holds.
