From the Vancouver World / Places

Canada Place

White sail-like roofs mark this harbourfront landmark, where a public promenade opens broad views of Burrard Inlet, cruise ships and the North Shore.

Canada Place

Why go

Canada Place offers an easy, unticketed waterfront pause with one of downtown’s clearest harbour perspectives. It works especially well as the opening or closing point of a walk through the business district, and the changing mix of ferries, seaplanes and cruise vessels keeps the view active.

What to look for

  • The building’s distinctive white roof sails
  • North Shore and working-harbour views from the promenade
  • Close-up perspective on cruise and seaplane activity

Useful to know

  • Treat the promenade separately from ticketed attractions inside, which have their own schedules.
  • Continue west along the waterfront or walk a few blocks east into Gastown.
