Stanley Park
Vancouver’s vast waterfront park combines rainforest trails, beaches, cultural landmarks and a celebrated seawall beside the downtown peninsula and Burrard Inlet.
Why go
Come for the rare contrast of dense coastal forest and open harbour scenery within reach of downtown. A seawall circuit emphasizes water and skyline views; the interior trails feel quieter and more wooded. The park is large enough that choosing one mode makes for a better visit than trying to see everything.
What to look for
Coastal seawall with changing harbour and skyline views
Cedar, hemlock and Douglas-fir forest in the park interior
Beaches, wildlife and cultural landmarks within one landscape
Useful to know
Choose either a seawall outing or an interior-trail walk unless you have most of a day.
Cyclists follow the posted one-way flow on relevant seawall sections; pedestrians use the separate path.
Facilities and attractions inside the park keep their own schedules.
