Why go
Take this measured route if you want to look beyond decorative architecture to the histories buildings and monuments carry. Start at the Neill-Cochran House Museum, giving the main house and preserved slave quarters time together rather than treating the visit as a furnished-room tour. Walk east to Littlefield Fountain, where the bronze figures and South Mall setting invite a closer look at its layered commemorative purpose. Continue south to Scholz Garten for a settled meal or drink. These are three essential, deliberately different visits, with room for discussion between them. The fountain stop does not include a Tower visit.
