Why go
This short route suits anyone who wants a clear shift from the harbour to the mountain without committing to a long hike. Start at the Fish Market, then walk to the Fløibanen lower station for the ride uphill. Spend time at the Mount Fløyen viewpoint to identify the streets and water below. If the weather and your energy allow, continue on foot to the quieter lake at Skomakerdiket. The lake is optional, and the upper area is exposed in poor weather. Check the funicular’s current service before leaving; allow separate time for your return journey.
