Nydeggbrücke
This broad bridge crosses the Aare at Bern’s eastern Old City edge. It gives a quick river view and a useful link between the BearPark area and Nydegg church.
The bridge opened a larger crossing beside the older Untertorbrücke in the 19th century. Crossing it makes the river bend and the city’s elevated eastern edge easy to grasp, while the smaller medieval bridge below shows the earlier route. It works best as part of a walk around the BearPark and Nydegg area.
What to look for
The bridge spans the Aare beside the eastern Old City.
Untertorbrücke offers a smaller, older crossing nearby.
The route leads toward Nydegg church on the Old City side.
Useful to know
Cross between the BearPark area and Nydegg church as part of an eastern Old City walk.
Compare it with Untertorbrücke if you have time for a second river crossing.
