Why go
This walk is for visitors who want to see how Bilbao’s civic buildings and cultural spaces change from the Ensanche toward the river. Begin at Azkuna Zentroa, where the building itself is part of the visit. Casa Montero, Plaza Moyúa and the Provincial Hall make a compact street-level sequence before Palacio Ibaigane draws you toward the waterfront. The Guggenheim is the longest stop, so protect time for its galleries rather than lingering at every facade. La Salve Bridge is an optional last look at the museum’s riverside setting. This route has several short outdoor stops and one substantial indoor visit; it works best at an unhurried walking pace.
