El Tigre Building
El Tigre is a former industrial building marked by a huge rooftop tiger sculpture on the Deusto bank. The exterior is a playful marker of Bilbao’s riverside past.
Look across from the Euskalduna side or along Botica Vieja for the clearest reading of the animal on the roof. The sculpture makes this building a destination in its own right, separate from the bridge and maritime museum opposite. The riverside view is especially clear.
What to look for
A large concrete tiger by Joaquín Lucarini crowns the former industrial building on Botica Vieja.
