Place Pey-Berland
This central square brings Cathédrale Saint-André, its detached bell tower and Palais Rohan into one view. It is a useful base for comparing three major buildings.
A circuit of Place Pey-Berland reveals how the cathedral, Tour Pey-Berland and former archbishop’s palace relate to one another across open space. Their different forms make the square more than a passage between attractions. You can take in all three exteriors before deciding whether to visit the church or climb the tower.
What to look for
Cathédrale Saint-André borders the square.
Tour Pey-Berland rises separately beside the church.
Palais Rohan faces the same civic space.
Useful to know
Circle the square before choosing which building to explore in depth.
Allow extra time only if adding the cathedral interior or tower climb.
