Why go
For a first Angkor temple day, this route protects time at the three landmarks that reward close looking: Angkor Wat, Bayon and Ta Prohm. A hired tuk-tuk makes the road links practical, while each temple still involves substantial walking in sun and on uneven stone. Banteay Kdei gives the final essential visit a calmer pace; nearby Srah Srang is optional when energy and daylight remain. Begin early enough to reach Bayon after its published opening time and finish temple visits before dusk. Carry water, allow breaks, and use marked paths only, especially where rainy-season surfaces are slick.
