Why go
The museum offers an indoor counterpoint to Carcassonne’s walls and open-air streets. Ten permanent rooms give enough range for a deliberate art visit, with paintings and decorative arts displayed in the former Présidial. Its position near Square Gambetta makes it easy to combine with a Bastide walk. The manageable room sequence lets you compare works at your own pace before returning to the neighborhood’s squares and streets.
