Williams Mansion
See a large Gilded Age house from Meeting Street, still widely known by its former Calhoun Mansion name. Interior touring is suspended, so the useful visit is an exterior look.
Why go
The mansion's scale sets it apart from the earlier houses nearby. Built for businessman George W. Williams, it fills a prominent Meeting Street site with a richly detailed exterior and an Italianate tower. Its later Calhoun name reflects a subsequent family connection rather than its original owner.

Useful to know
Plan to view the house from the public street; do not count on entering it.
If an interior tour matters to you, check the mansion's own tour announcements before traveling.
