Plaza del Potro
A small riverside-quarter square named for the colt atop its fountain. The old inn and museum façades make it a compact stop for Córdoba’s civic and literary history.
Several Córdoba stories meet around one modest space. The fountain’s colt explains the name; the Posada del Potro recalls the inn mentioned in Don Quixote; and the former charity hospital fronts the square. A slow circuit reveals more than a quick glance at the fountain.
What to look for
A colt crowns the Renaissance fountain.
The Posada del Potro stands along the square.
Museum buildings occupy the former Hospital de la Caridad frontage.
Useful to know
Walk around the square to see the fountain, inn and museum frontage together.
