Cologne Cathedral
Cologne's twin-spired Gothic cathedral dominates the station area. Tourist entry to the interior now needs a ticket, available on site, while worship and temporary restrictions can affect visiting.
Stand close enough to see the dense stonework before going inside to compare the great height of the nave with the medieval choir and glass. The cathedral's long construction history is part of Cologne's identity and explains its layered fabric. The tower is a separate, more demanding visit if you want the city view.
