Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
Peter Eisenman's field of concrete stelae offers a place to remember the Jews murdered in the Holocaust. The outdoor field is open at all hours; the underground exhibition has separate access.
Why go
The blocks change height as the paths descend, shifting your view of the surrounding streets. Beneath the field, the Information Centre gives names and personal histories to the persecution and murder that the abstract memorial cannot explain by itself. Visit quietly and check the centre's current hours if you want that fuller context.
