Why go

The tower’s unusual angle has a purpose: its plan preserves views from Citadel Hill towards the harbour. Completed in 1977 and enlarged in 1988, it occupies the former Capitol Theatre site. The newer entrance pavilion adds another architectural layer, making this corner a useful stop for understanding how downtown buildings respond to their surroundings.

What to look for

  • Coloured glazing distinguishes the redeveloped entrance pavilion.
  • The office tower and rebuilt street-level frontage show two different architectural approaches.

Useful to know

  • Treat this as an exterior stop on a Barrington Street walk.
