Why go
This central Motomachi route offers families a change of pace without a long cross-city transfer. Children can spend the longest stretch exploring the science exhibits, while Gate Park supplies space to move around before the quieter art museum. The final section circles Hiroshima Castle’s grounds, moat and reconstructed Ninomaru area; the main keep tower is closed to visitors. The nearby Chugoku Military Headquarters Air Defense Room is an optional short exterior observation because its interior is closed. Skip that last stop if younger travelers have had enough history. The route mixes indoor and outdoor time, so allow flexibility for weather and museum programs.
