The skeletal exhibition hall stands on the Motoyasu River as Hiroshima’s most direct surviving witness to the 1945 bombing. View it from outside; entry is prohibited.

Designed by Jan Letzel and completed in 1915, the former industrial promotion hall survived at the center of devastation. Its exposed dome and brickwork make the scale of destruction visible before entering the museum. Walk the riverside to see how the preserved ruin relates to the rebuilt city around it.
