Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower

The Tsim Sha Tsui Clock Tower is a brief exterior stop beside the harbour. Its railway history gives meaning to a landmark otherwise easily treated as a waterfront photograph.

Why go

The tower survives from the Kowloon–Canton Railway terminus completed here in the early twentieth century. Look at it beside the Cultural Centre and the ferry pier to understand how much this waterfront has changed. A railway arrival point has become a cluster of cultural venues, with the tower preserving the connection between the two settings.

What to look for

  • Red-brick and granite construction
  • 44-metre tower against the waterfront setting

Useful to know

  • Plan about 15 minutes for exterior observation.
  • Continue to the adjacent Star Ferry Pier or Cultural Centre.
