Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park
The Waterwall turns an Uptown shopping break into a close encounter with a monumental fountain. Its curved wall and oak-lined lawn frame Williams Tower immediately to the north.
Water flows down both sides of the semicircular structure, so the experience changes as you move around it. The fountain was conceived with the neighboring tower as an architectural ensemble: its 64-foot height echoes the tower’s 64 stories, giving their pairing a meaning beyond a convenient photograph.
What to look for
Water sheets down the inner and outer faces of the curved wall.
Live oaks shade the lawn facing Williams Tower.
Useful to know
Look at both faces of the fountain rather than stopping only at the tower-facing side.
Combine the park with Williams Tower’s exterior and nearby Galleria shopping.
Check the park’s fountain notices before a trip centered on seeing the water flow.
