Williams Tower
See Williams Tower as an exterior landmark in Uptown, paired with the adjacent Waterwall. The architectural payoff comes from its profile and setting rather than a tower ascent.
Philip Johnson and John Burgee’s 1983 office tower gives Uptown a distinctive vertical marker away from Downtown. Its arched granite entrance and rooftop beacon reward a closer architectural look, while the neighboring park provides space to take in the building’s full height and its relationship with the Waterwall.
What to look for
The granite arched entrance contrasts with the tall office façade.
A revolving beacon crowns the 64-story tower.
Useful to know
View the building from Waterwall Park to include its landscaped setting.
Plan an exterior stop; no public observation-deck access is established.
