Why go
Choose this outdoor route for park scenery and river outlooks with a little civic architecture between the paths. European Square introduces the central crossroads, and the former National Parliamentary Library, now the Yaroslav Mudryi National Library, adds a short exterior stop. Continue through Khreshchaty Park before considering the changing symbolism of the Arch of Freedom of the Ukrainian People. Finish on Saint Volodymyr Hill, leaving time for the terraces rather than hurrying toward another district. Hills and changes of level make this more demanding than its short distances suggest. Confirm usable paths and current public-space access; the route assumes neither a funicular ride nor step-free connections.
