Why go
This is the strongest first-day introduction to ceremonial London: Parliament, coronations, the working royal residence and the river appear in one largely walkable sequence. Keep the Natural History Museum as an optional Tube extension, not a compulsory detour. Abbey entry and the London Eye need the most schedule discipline; the parks and exterior landmarks absorb delays without breaking the day.
