Lilau Square
Pause in the small square associated with an early Portuguese residential quarter and a former spring, on a natural walk through southern heritage streets.
Why go
The old Lilau spring supplied local drinking water, and the square still carries a saying about remembering Macau after drinking from it. It is best treated as a brief pause rather than a destination for a long visit. Its position between Mandarin’s House and the Barra area helps connect the southern heritage sites on foot.
What to look for
A compact square within older residential lanes
The site of the former Lilau spring
Useful to know
Pair it with Mandarin’s House and St Lawrence’s Church.
