Funchal Municipal Garden
A compact public garden on Avenida Arriaga occupies land once belonging to the São Francisco convent. Avenida Arriaga places it opposite the Municipal Theatre amid central heritage streets.
This is an easy pause within a central Funchal walk rather than a separate hillside excursion. Look for the surviving convent coat of arms and then use the surrounding streets to continue toward the theatre, cathedral or waterfront, depending on your route.

Useful to know
The garden faces the Municipal Theatre on Avenida Arriaga, making it practical on a city-centre walk.
