Twelve tanks in a former Porto Moniz fort present more than 90 native marine species. The collection is useful when a marine-focused indoor visit suits the day better than swimming.
This is a focused way to meet the sea life behind Madeira’s coastal scenery. The old fort setting also gives the visit a heritage frame, making it a useful indoor option when ocean conditions do not suit the nearby pools.
