Why go
Start with Golden Bay and the neighbouring Għajn Tuffieħa to compare two sandy coves with different approaches. Give only one a long beach window; the stairs into Għajn Tuffieħa make repeated descents less useful than a deliberate choice. Continue by road to Mellieħa for the village above the coast, then visit the Red Tower when its managed access allows. Finish at Għadira Bay below the town. This is a sequence of coastal contrasts with transfers between areas, not a continuous shoreline walk. Heat, wind and sea conditions should decide which beach gets the most time.
