Basilica di San Francesco di Paola
The domed basilica closes one side of Piazza del Plebiscito with a sweeping colonnade. Step inside if you want to see how its circular plan changes the space.
The church is best understood from two positions. From the square, its columns shape the vast civic space; indoors, the dome and round plan create a different, more contained experience. Its neoclassical form also offers a clear visual counterpoint to Naples’s many older and more ornate churches.
