The Malt Cross lets you experience an entertainment building from 1877 while it continues to function as a social venue. Its gallery, ironwork and high glazed roof are the attraction even without a performance. It adds a different indoor pause to the city’s museums and purpose-built concert halls.
What to look for
A glazed barrel-vault roof spans the hall.
A gallery overlooks the main hall.
Decorative cast-iron supports carry the gallery.
