From the Craftsmen’s Courtyard to the Imperial Castle

Why go

This route suits a first visit centered on Nuremberg’s historic core. Start at the Craftsmen’s Courtyard by Königstor, where small workshops give way to the larger scale of St. Lorenz. Hauptmarkt and Frauenkirche bring you to the north side of the river; St. Sebaldus then leads toward the Imperial Castle. Give the castle the longest visit and keep the market and church stops shorter, so the uphill finish does not feel rushed. Fembo House is an optional museum stop near the castle if you still want more city history. Church interiors and workshops depend on access when you arrive; their streets and facades still make the sequence legible.
