Canadian Museum of Nature
The Canadian Museum of Nature fills the historic Victoria Memorial Museum Building with collections on the natural world. Its fossil, water, mineral, and Arctic galleries make an indoor counterpoint to Ottawa's river landscapes.
Why go
Choose a few galleries to explore closely: the building is large enough to reward an unhurried visit. A blue-whale skeleton gives the water displays an immediate sense of scale, while the older stone structure and newer glass lantern offer a second architectural story. This is a strong choice when weather rules out a long outdoor route.
