West Block
West Block now contains the temporary House of Commons chamber during Centre Block's rehabilitation. Visitor access depends on current parliamentary tour arrangements and security screening.
A current parliamentary tour can make this building more than an exterior stop, but the visitor route must be confirmed first. The temporary chamber gives this older building a present-day parliamentary role; its exterior also balances East Block across the open grounds.
What to look for
The West Block's stone frontage faces the parliamentary grounds.
Useful to know
Reserve a current House of Commons tour if you want to see the temporary chamber.
