Why go
The Malecón turns a walk along the bay into a sequence of distinct artworks. Look for Ramiz Barquet's Nostalgia and Sergio Bustamante's In Search of Reason, then continue toward Los Arcos, where the open-air amphitheater gives the waterfront a different focus. The route also connects naturally with Plaza de Armas and the parish church nearby.
What to look for
- Ramiz Barquet's Nostalgia sculpture along the promenade.
- Sergio Bustamante's In Search of Reason sculpture.
- The Pacific waterfront and Los Arcos amphitheater.
Useful to know
- Walk the promenade as a linear route toward the Cuale River, rather than treating one map pin as the whole Malecón.
- Combine its southern stretch with Plaza de Armas and the Guadalupe parish a short distance inland.
