Why go

This compact route suits a first visit focused on Riga’s older buildings. The House of the Blackheads shows ceremonial rooms above surviving cellars; St Peter’s adds a church interior and, when available, a tower view. Continue to the cathedral for its nave and organ, then read the changing facades of the Three Brothers and pass through the Swedish Gate. Those two brief street stops are optional if museum or church time runs long. Finish at Riga Castle for a 20-minute exterior look from public streets; the route does not assume entry. Check admission and service arrangements for the interiors before choosing your start time.
