Rotterdam with a Delft Day

Spend two days on Rotterdam’s riverfront and cultural districts, then use a third day for Delft’s churches, canals and surviving eastern gate.

Rotterdam with a Delft Day

Why go

Delft provides a deliberate contrast to Rotterdam’s rebuilt scale. After following the Nieuwe Maas, Erasmusbrug and Museumpark, take a day for Oude Kerk, Nieuwe Kerk and Oostpoort, where historic fabric is more continuous. Move through Rotterdam first, then let Delft slow the pace with a smaller historic centre and its church towers. The combination makes Rotterdam’s post-war architecture clearer without treating the two cities as interchangeable stops or rushing the rail-connected excursion.

Useful to know

  • Treat Delft as a separate day rather than an add-on after a full Rotterdam museum programme.
  • Group Oude Kerk, Nieuwe Kerk and Oostpoort into a walkable historic-centre sequence.
  • Check access for church interiors and event-based monuments before travelling.
