River Street
River Street is a cobbled walk below the bluff, with old cotton warehouses on one side and the working Savannah River on the other. Ship watching is part of the appeal.
The waterfront lets you read Savannah as a port rather than only a city of squares and houses. The warehouse fronts, cobbles and passing vessels make a short walk visually dense. It is also a natural place to browse shops or pause for food, though the open river edge is less comfortable in rough weather.

Useful to know
Allow time for the river view instead of treating the street only as a shopping corridor.
