Why go
Begin at Waibaidu Bridge, where Suzhou Creek meets the Huangpu and the steel trusses frame the riverfront. Continue north into Hongkou to explore 1933 Old Millfun’s concrete bridges and staircases. Transfer onward to Duolun Road for a shorter pedestrian walk past historic houses and literary landmarks, then finish in Lu Xun Park, where the writer’s tomb and other memorials sit among planted grounds. This is a day of architecture and cultural history, with transfers between clusters rather than one continuous walk. Keep indoor memorial visits optional if their access would make the day too crowded.
