Anping Old Fort
Anping Old Fort stands at the site of Fort Zeelandia near Tainan’s old waterfront. It tells a different Dutch-era story from Chihkan Tower in the city center.
The Dutch built a defensive stronghold here in the 1620s; the site later changed under Zheng and Qing rule as the coastline shifted. Visit to understand why Anping was the early maritime gateway. The grounds reward a slower look at surviving walls and later additions rather than one quick tower photograph.
