Why go
This compact Ayutthaya route is for visitors who want to read the old capital through several distinct ruins rather than rush between distant temple compounds. Wat Lokayasutharam introduces an open-air Buddha image, and Wat Phra Si Sanphet adds the former royal setting. Continue to Wat Ratchaburana before finishing at Wat Mahathat, where the archaeological remains reward a slower look. The short transfers let you spend most of the day among the sites themselves. All four stops are essential to the sequence; bring time and energy for exposed walking, and shorten the visit within each site if heat builds.
