Why go
Families with energy for both fresh air and indoor activities can use this north-island route without returning to the busy centre between stops. The shore path at Prestvannet gives the day a gentle start, followed by space to move at Charlottenlund. Tromsøbadet provides a longer swim break, and the Science Centre finishes with hands-on exhibits. The Arctic–Alpine Botanic Garden is an optional final stop only while its grounds are open, normally from late spring to autumn; it closes for winter dormancy. The walks between sites take time, so keep the garden as a choice rather than rushing the main four stops. Check activity conditions and venue hours before leaving.
