The Strand Hotel Yangon
The Strand is a restored historic hotel on Strand Road, useful for seeing a different side of downtown Yangon's colonial architecture. Arrange any café, bar or interior visit with the hotel first.
Opened in 1901, the hotel connects the river-facing road with the era when Yangon was a colonial port. Its restored interiors retain teak and marble surfaces, while the Strand Café and Sarkies Bar give a reason to linger if hospitality access is available. Even from outside, the building works well as a final stop after Pansodan Street's historic facades.
